This morning, Laura went to the plastic surgeon's office again. This time, happily, to have the drains removed. (Medical tubing was installed in her chest during the initial operation on Friday. These drain the fluid that would otherwise accumulate in her tissue following the surgery. Much to my parents' astonishment, I actually was able to empty the drains for her twice a day without fainting or curling up in the corner like a scared puppy. Perhaps now I'll be permitted to use the family chainsaw...)
So Laura is napping -- sense a trend anyone? -- and I'm happily chugging away on work.
Late this afternoon Laura's Aunt Mar flies into town to help for a week. Things aren't too hard right now, but having the extra hands will make it much easier. I'll take the boys with me to the airport to pick her up. I anticipate Ben putting on his maximum cuteness to woo her.
Visiting hours today: 2pm - 8pm.

Stay away from the chainsaw! Laura has always been more adept at things mechanical. David said that your studies were in theoretical physics, which did not equip you to actually do things.
Dad
Your Dad says, still no Chainsaw... besides it's mine.... heck, I don't even want your Dad to handle it any more... that's why we hire landscapers!!!!
I'm very proud of the way you have stepped up to the plate to help your Laura... just like your Dad except he didn't have drains to empty -
I am sure Laura will be way more comfortable now... or at least as comfortable as possible... perhaps a nice soft pillow to hold to her chest so she can get huggies from the boys??
next shift starts next week!
Love, Mom H.
I see I am not the only one who referred to the post-surgery look as becoming a cyborg....
